While working through Dave Raymond’s American History, Lecture 3.2: The Myths & Legends, my 11-year-old ran into several words that made the reading harder to follow.
So I made a simple vocabulary study sheet with easier definitions, plain-language alternatives, and short examples. I’m sharing it here in case it helps another homeschool student working through the same lesson.
Words included
- inherit
- contentions
- munition
- thither
- thitherwards
- inhabitants
- barren
- inhabited
The sheet also explains the older expressions thither and thitherwards in modern English and ends with a short practice activity asking students to choose three words and write their own sentences.
